The effects of treatment with cochlear implantation impact a number of proposed changes in Social Security Disability regulation.

The current listings do not consider the effects of cochlear implantation on hearing loss.

Given advances in technology, the Social Security Administration proposes to add a new listing, 2.11, for hearing loss treated with cochlear implantation.
